Weta Workshop - Lord of The Rings - Skull of a Balrog Statue

Wētā Workshop was intrinsically involved in the design and physical effects manufacture for all three films of The Lord of the Rings™ trilogy.

Massive in scale, the skull of this Balrog displays elongated, curving horns reminiscent of a goat’s, which appear to fuse seamlessly with the frontal bone to form a protective, armour-like carapace. The supporting bone structure is distinguished by a network of ridges with minimal flat surfaces, indicative of a creature developed to endure intense heat and pressure.

• Based on the mighty Balrog, as seen in The Lord of the Rings;
• Obsidian-like stand makes this skull feel like an artifact straight out of the study of Saruman™;
• Physically sculpted by Wētā Workshop Senior Sculptor and Middle-earth veteran Jamie Beswarick.
